Dr Ramon Bataller
Ramon Bataller is Associate Director of the Pittsburgh Liver Research Centre and Chief of Hepatology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr Bataller's research interests include liver fibrosis and the mechanisms and determinants of mortality of alcoholic liver disease. He has performed translational studies using human samples and experimental models of liver disease primarily. A more recent research interest of Dr. Battaler involves his exploration of the global public health aspects of alcoholic liver disease. He is the PI for an NIH-funded consortium (InTeam) for translational research of alcoholic hepatitis. InTeam's main goals include the identification of molecular subtypes and the identification of novel targets for therapy.
